Sports physiotherapy is an approach that aims to work with athletes of all skill levels and ages to treat their injuries and return them to the game as quickly and efficiently as possible. The role of the physiotherapist is primarily to support the athlete in his return to action after an injury, and to prevent recurrence or other injuries.
Our sport physiotherapist provide service in the following areas:
- Management of injuries to muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones
- Pre and Postop strengthening
- Active exercise focused rehabilitation programs
- Postural and ergonomic analysis
- Concussions and post concussion syndrome
- Return to sport/play education and timelines
The sports physiotherapy approach consists of different treatments. The physiotherapist will first complete a detailed fitness and injury evaluation. We will explain the details of your specific injury and teach you about the treatment plan we will create for you while also explaining the steps to take to return to sport.
At the very beginning of the treatment, the condition may still be acute. In this case, the treatment of sports injuries begins with interventions such as appropriate loading, application of ice, compression, and elevation to reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain.
The interventions will mainly consist of manual therapy to treat stiffness, correction of inefficient sports actions, modalities for pain relief, motor control, and mobility exercises to practice at home. The physiotherapist may also use tapings to correct a movement pattern or to stabilize a joint. This will help reduce your injuries and improve your athletic performance.
We are dedicated to the prevention and treatment of sports injuries. Our mission is to provide athletes, coaches, and fitness enthusiasts with an extensive wealth of knowledge to prevent injury, and to treat in case of an injury.
